Rev. Richleigh Hale Powers, Ph.D., Chaplain is a non-denominational wedding officiant and minister and modern day theologian.

With more than 25 years of wedding Officiant experience, performing personalized weddings and elopements – by the sea, in hot air balloons, aboard yachts, and in and around the many picturesque parks, beaches, chapels, elegant resorts, and romantic locations California has to offer.

Now residing in The Sea Ranch, Rev. Powers is looking forward with eager anticipation to providing you with the personal and professional service you envision for your event on your Special day in the beautiful venues throughout Sonoma and Mendocino.

Reverend Powers develops weddings or elopements as a unique personal event to celebrate and enjoy, while creating a relaxed atmosphere for all participants and guests. California residency or United States residency is not required.

Rev. Powers appreciates the many opportunities to be of service and has established personal and long lasting relationships with many couples and families that will last a lifetime.

Rev. Powers received his Doctorates in Psychology and Theology from California Western University San Diego and Santa Ana campus respectively. He is also a graduate of Calvary Chapel School of Ministry Vista, California, and following his training at Bethel Seminary, San Diego California, is a certified counselor for the Prepare Enrich Couples Coaching Program. Acting as the Chaplain for the Leukemia Society of America he was selected as Man of the Year by the San Diego and Hawaii Chapters as a facilitator for the family support groups and home and hospital visitation corps. Rev. Powers is a lifetime member of the National Chaplains Association. Dr. Powers has also been voted San Diego’s most valued minister by the San Diego Wedding Professionals.

Each year Rev. Powers officiates approximately 200 weddings and provides additional Chaplaincy services in the Sonoma and Mendocino Counties ; baptisms, dedications, christenings, Celebrations of Life, funeral and memorial services. As a non-denominational Chaplain he is called upon by many families and couples with differing and varied beliefs and traditions to facilitate their desires with a sensitive and spiritual focus.

Rev. Powers recently revised and released his book The Romance of The Wedding Ceremony published as a guide and resource for couples to compose and personalize their wedding ceremonies. His book is now used by seminaries as an adjunct to their ministerial training as well as clergy in many fields. His book as well as numerous wedding ceremonies are available for use and review by his clients who desire to participate in creating their own unique wedding ceremony.
